SO, I initially took a picture of Jake with his legos. He thought it was pretty cool that he built one as tall as he is, however, out of all the pics I took, only ONE he didn't have his damn finger in his nose! What the heck is up with that? Seriously man, it's G.R.O.S.S! Drives me up the wall. I've gone so far as to tell him he'll have a horrible nickname at school if he keeps it up (yeah yeah, I know-I'm already out of the running for Mother of the Year-blew that the first week in January, so no worries LOL). His teacher said he doesn't do it at school anymore. Seems as if he saves it for me. I'm so lucky! I have to say, though, it has to be a 6 yr old thing. I swear, when I go into Jake's class it seems like almost 1/2 of them have fingers somewhere where they shouldn't be-GIRLS INCLUDED, so you can't just blame it on being a boy thing lol. Girls are gross, too! :-P

Tuesday-MM MMM MMM I'm Lovin' It!
Ok, so tell me if this makes any sense...It's Tuesday @ 4:30. I'm standing in the kitchen, and I just don't have it in me to cook. I'm lazy...So what do I do? I take both kids, pack them in the car and go across town (ok, so it's really not that dramatic-It's only like 4 lights) to McDonalds, sit in the drive thru for over 10 minutes waiting for food, bring them home, unpack them out of the car, get them all plated up, etc, just to eat dinner. Seriously, what was I thinking? Apparently it was more of a "I'm craving Mickey Ds, let's go" rather than laziness, cause if I were really lazy, I would've just turned on the oven and plopped our own chicken nuggets and fries on a cookie sheet and been done with it. Eh, what's a girl to do?

A Picnic in the Sun
Sunday-I'm Not Quite Sure What's Scarier....
The fact that Jake is swimming in a pair of Hank's old work pants...
Saturday-The Smaller Face of Pneumonia
Lord, both kids are getting over it now! Liv had a fever for 6 days! I finally took her in for the 3rd time and they gave her something. Poor kid. Thankfully, both of my children are pretty good at being sick. Nothing keeps them down. I would really worry if they wanted to lay around lol
Anyway, I took some pics of Liv in the tub. She doesn't look too sick, does she? Never guess she had a 101.6 fever!
Friday-Give a Kid a Camera...
And this is what you get!
His latest lego free build...
Whatever was on TV at the time...

Awww a sweet note written by my lovely little boy...
And a close up of Livvie lol
Of course, he forgot the flash, but whatever LOL He did a good job. He asked if he could take a picture of his latest lego free build thingy, so I said yes. Liv was in her chair, eating a snack, and I was cleaning, not really paying attention. He also took a picture of Liv's shoes and her sippy, and some McDonalds toy. That one was pretty funny, but since he didn't have the flash on, you can't see the item very well because it's black LOL

Thursday-When Leaf Blowers Attack!
Tuesday-Sickness in the Sun
Despite her fever, she insisted on going outside to play (in her jammies, of course!) She was trying to be a baseball player. I took her to the drs and was told virus. I had to take Jake back on Wednesday for a lung check (to see if his pneumonia was leaving) and insisted they check her again. Come to find out she had the Flu! Poor kid. She's good on motrin, but look out when she's not (not that I blame her!)

Monday-Liv's New Favorite Spot...
Sunday-Clean Day
No pictures...Just lots of cleaning! I'm trying to get the house ready to put back on the market, so I've been feverishly trying to get things done. I'm trying to take care of the rooms the kids don't really destroy (ie my room and bathroom lol) My goal is to put the house back on the market by Monday! Then I can get back into working out. Damn Easter coconut hershey's kisses will be the death of my thighs *sigh*

Went In For An Ear Check...
Went out with WALKING PNEUMONIA! I swear, this kid doesn't get a break! He got a cold from Olivia. He's had pneumonia a couple of times, but this time he didn't show any signs except for the nasty cough, so I ignored it, thinking it was a normal, run of the mill cold. Apparently not. Of course, I feel like a schmuck because normally when his cough is "wet" like it was, I get out the big ol mama neb machine and give him some treatments. This time, I didn't *sigh* I now know better. I'm usually so proactive with his coughing, but alas, I got sidetracked this week. Live and learn, right? Get well soon, baby!

Ms Fashionista
We were getting ready to take Jake to school this am, and I asked Liv to go get some socks. She came out with these. Who am I to argue? She calls these her "Meow Meow Kitty" socks LOL Don't you love how they blend so well with her paisley print pants? I figure there are things in life not even worth fighting over. Socks are one of those things =) Besides, it shows her individuality-Gotta love that!!
Wednesday-Spring Is In The Air...
Everywhere I look around...Spring is in the air...in every sight and every sound...and I don't know if I'm being foolish, and I don't know if I'm being wise, but it's something I must believe in, and it's there when I open my eyes...
HA! Name that tune, People!!! Of course, some of the words have been changed to suit my needs, but only a few!
The tulips are coming, the tulips are coming! Let's hope the cold is going away. I'm sooooo ready for Spring! BRING IT ON BABY!

They're So Sweet When They're Quiet....
Jake stayed home from school for a 2nd day because he was up half the night coughing (hmm, can you guess who was up with him?? I give you 3 guesses and the first 2 don't count!) So, needless to say, he woke with a sore throat and still hacking. I decided it'd be a good idea for 1 more sick day at home. Liv normally goes to the sitter's but her son was suffering from a sore throat as well. So, both kids stayed with me while I worked. They decided to watch Wake Up Jeff (a Wiggles Video) It was the ONLY TIME all day long they were quiet. I swear, the Old Sibling/Younger Sibling dynamic is so funny. I now understand why my mother went so crazy. Jake just whispers things and Liv repeats it all. It's hard not to laugh when your 2 yr old is running around saying "Farty Pants".
Neither kid got out of their jammies all day long (well, Liv's legs came out-only to change her diaper!) It was kind of nice not having to go anywhere...

I Was Forced To, I Swear it!!
I have to say, I'm not one to give in to hype and for the most part, I ignore it (hence my 1990's jeans I'm still wearing LOL) My friend Jennifer gave me this book on Friday and said "Melanie, I'm forcing you to read this. I WILL CALL YOU and check to make sure!" SO, begrudgingly, I started reading it on Sunday (trying to avoid watching the crappy snowy roads, and attempting to ignore NASCAR radio that was playing in the background LMAO) I have to admit, I'm enjoying it *sigh*
Sunday-The Fun Drive Home
Saturday-My Beautiful Grandma
Friday - Random Pic of Liv
Thursday - Visiting The Fossil Beds
Ok, I'm cheating-we really did this on Wednesday on our way to Grandmas, but I totally forgot to take a picture each day, so like Jake says "You get what you get, and you don't pitch a fit" (wish he'd heed his own words!!)
The kids coloring. Jake was thrilled to see that his coloring from the last time we went thru in October was STILL there!
View outside the visitor's center. The clouds rolling over the hills on a rainy day...

Jake took the map picture and the picture of the cardboard ranger. I just found them amusing LOL
Wednesday-Over the River and Thru the Woods...
to Grandmother's house we go! Well, my Grandma, the kid's Great Grandma! Here they are, chillin in the car. They're pretty good travelers, though they're learning the art of bickering, as any sibling set in a car for 6 hours will do!
Olivia watching the Wiggles on Jake's old Video Now Jr. I think it's about ready to take a dive, which is so sad!
Jake, coloring with the color wonders (there's no way we'd allow real markers in the car. That's just asking for it LOL)

God Love Little Boys
Watching Jake grow is amazing and crazy all at the same time. He's in that age now where everything is a WMD (weapon of mass destruction) At first I was annoyed because he would turn a doll, lego, train tracks, little people, ANYTHING he could get his hands on and make it into a sword. He starts flailing it all around the house, knocking things over, going crazy. I just shake my head and tell him to stop, because let's face it-It can be very annoying! Now he's making machine gun noises with everything. Holy Mary, it's like nails on a chalk board. If I never hear that sound again, I wouldn't be very upset.
BUT THEN...I read an article my mother tagged in one of the many magazines she gave me (maybe Good Housekeeping?) either way, it was an article about the stick. Yep, a plain ol yard stick. It went on to say how wonderful a stick can be. Little boys in particular (not saying girls don't do it, but you kwim) love the stick for its wide variety of imaginative play they can get out of it. It can be a baton, a sword, a magic wand-You name it, the possibilities are endless. I just never thought about it that way.
So, baby boy, the next time we're outside and you pick up a stick (unless there's mass people around LOL) play with it to your heart's content-I can't wait to see what your imagination comes up with next!
