Meet Pirate Foofs

So, not sure when this all started (and btw, these pics weren't taken today-I surely hope it's not breaking the rules LOL) but she started squinting up one eye when we'd take her picture. Then we started saying "No Pirate Eye!" and she then started going "arghhhhhhhhh" when she squinted as well LOL. This is one pirate I won't make walk the planks =)
And can I say, God love the child who, when you go into their room after their nap, all sweaty and gross from working out in a sports bra and leggings (yep, you may need to scratch your eyeballs to erase that image off your corneas lol) points to your war torn, stretchmarked from whoo ha to whoo hee after giving birth to 2 kids belly and says "Mommy's belly. So pretty" and gives you a hug.
Now THAT'S Love =)

Meet My Frien-emy...the Treadmill...

There she stands, in all her glory (watching TV I might add!) Ok, so really, she's not watching TV, but that's what *I* do to keep my ADD self from going insane. I decided to get back on the horse. It's been awhile...She's been staring me down daily for months, and I just put my blinders on as I walk on by, whistling dixie, pretending to not see the glares she gives-And boy, she can give good ones, too. (I think she may partly be mad that I'm hanging clothes off her)
And you heard it here first: I'm going to run a 5k. Yep, I've completely and totally lost my marbles. I've decided to suck it up and do it. Why in God's green earth would I sign up for something I hate to do? Who knows...Maybe I like torturing myself. I said I was going to do it last May, but well, life got in the way of that, so I'm determined to do it again this year. Surprisingly enough, I'm not as out of shape as I thought.
So, I post here and there on my progress, and I expect anyone and everyone to keep me in line because we all know what a slacker I can be. That being said, I've slacked enough...I'm off to finish my work.

Quote of the night, given by my loving son, Jake: "Mom, you don't suck at bowling like you do at tennis" Yep, thanks for pointing that out Jake. I appreciate it...

Back To School, Back to the Grind

AHHHHHHHHHH did you hear the same thing I did today? Was it silence? The lack of fighting? I think we were both more than ready for Jake to go back to school. Jake was excited, too. Well, probably the first 10 minutes, then probably said "This is beat. I want to be home playing my Wii" I, on the other hand, would've enjoyed the silence much more had Liv been with the sitter like normal, but she needed a day off because her son went back to school today as well. Don't blame her one bit! =)

Liv spent most of the day in her jammies (didn't get out of them till after nap-Shame on me!) and is attempting to become a Duplo Master (a step down from Lego master :P) She was so proud of herself and said "TA DA!!!" (you can see Jo Jo in the background, looking out the window-forever protecting =) )

Jan 4, 2009 Pt Deux: The Sweetest Face...

I can totally see me posting more than once a day...I had to add this. Is this not the sweetest face in the world? God I love that boy...

Jan 04, 2009: Say HELLO to my little friend...

Meet Mr Creepy, Olivia's nemesis. He's actually a very ugly pen. For some reason, from the moment Liv saw him, she was afraid of him. I mean, running, hiding, crying afraid. This is the big time, people. So, because I'm well aware that I will not be receiving any "Mother of the Year" awards anytime soon, I keep Mr Creepy around. He's been well placed in the grapes bowl when Liv keeps trying to sneak them (really people, I'm just saving myself from terrible diaper clean up-is that so bad?) Or, he gets put near the stairs to keep Liv from sneaking down them and bugging Jake and Hank. Works better than any gate I've ever owned. She constantly wants to see him, but if you make any attempts to get him, she's running for cover telling Mr Pee Pee (that's what she calls him) to go to sleep LOL. If I ask her to do something, and she says no, all I have to say is "I'm going to get Mr Creepy" and she's doing whatever it is that she was supposed to do. I know, probably not the nicest thing ever, but it works. One of these days, Liv will conquer her fear of Mr Creepy. I keep trying to get her to touch him to see he's not so bad, but she refuses. What's a girl to do??

Jan 03,2009: Child Labor and Silly Faces....

The silliness that's become my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way! On any given day, the kids are giving priceless faces-Liv's new face is her pirate eye...I will post a funny pic at a later date. She was trying to give me pirate eye this time, but I made her giggle instead, so I could get a decent pic. This is what I got:

(the shirt is so true! =) )

So, isn't this why we have kids??? If, for nothing else, to do our dirty work! Liv decided she wanted to help me mop, so I gave her the Swifter and put her to work. I guess I should keep at it before she realizes this is no fun, right? (and before she realizes she should be asking for money to do such tasks)
And I know this project is supposed to be able all the mundane things you do, and taking a picture, but somehow taking of picture of me cleaning up frozen dog poop from the backyard didn't seem like something anyone would like to see, nor something I would like to remember this time next year LOL. Hmm, maybe I should put it on Liv's to do list since she's so eager to help... =)
